Big Boy Update

This afternoon, we took Emmett for his 2 year checkup! I wasn't shocked at how old he was until I just now typed "...took Emmett for his 3-month checkup" - yikes. :)

The visit went really well overall - halfway through the exam E stopped screaming and started watching what the Dr was doing, which was a relief to us. We talked about a few minor health concerns we were having (a small reaction to his last vaccinations, etc) and overall left feeling reassured that he's growing and developing just as he should be. He's still on the bigger side:
32lbs 8oz (92nd percentile)
36.25in (95th percentile)

Afterwards, we took him out for ice cream (fro yo) which he enjoyed immensely.

Even MORE pics of E

Through work, we've gotten a pretty sweet new camera. It is, however, a professional camera (not one schmoes like us typically use), so we've been a bit slack with the pictures lately since we can't figure out how to use it. Emmett's birthday was the perfect excuse to try it out. An additional challenge: as with most healthy, squirmy, growing boys - getting him to sit still in the yellow chair is not getting easier!

Feet looking less like potatoes as time goes on :(
Jumping on the chair = picture time is over!

Emmett and Juddy

Emmett's best bud, Juddy, came over on Sunday afternoon to help celebrate Emmett's birthday. As usual, we had a ball with our dear friends, the Gilberts, and for the first time turned our backyard into toy central -- it was great! The boys had a lot of fun, and we captured a few moments of Emmett's pouty 2-year old self, not sure of whether he wanted to share his toys.

"Hey, where you going with my dump truck?"
"Mom? Are you seeing this?"

Baby shower in the garden

Teresa's book club kicked off garden season - and Baby season - with a brunch to celebrate our dear friend, Sarah, who is expecting her second little boy in June. As even the most refined Southern book clubs sometimes do, we got a little rowdy, and apparently provided some entertainment for our neighbors who could hear every word. Maybe brunch indoors next time? :)

Danielle & Ben

This past weekend was a busy and fun-filled one, starting off with the wedding of our friend Danielle to our new friend, Ben! We were so happy to be there to celebrate this wonderful couple. Here are a few photos from after the ceremony, courtesy of Brooke who is absolutely the best at taking photos and sharing them shortly afterwards.
