8 Weeks Old!

Look at how good I am at holding my head up!

His eyes are still blue but we think he is looking like his Daddy a bit more each day...

... a little like Mommy too.

And we had to share a picture of Emmett's awesome new shoes, by our talented friend Shuangshuang! Fortunately she made them plenty big because his already large feet are growing quickly :)

Happy Father's Day!

We hope that all of the wonderful dads in our lives enjoyed a special day today! For Andrew's first Father's Day, we went on a couple of nice walks, cuddled with Emmett and watched some Sopranos, and Andrew tested out his fancy new edger!

Emmett is very well. As his grandmothers predicted, at 7 weeks he is already in 3-6 month clothing, and we are getting a kick out of his more frequent smiles, coos, and occasional giggles.

Thank you Grandpa Pat and Aunt Anna for coming to visit for the weekend! The weather was super hot and humid so it was a pretty low key weekend, but we enjoyed the company, lots of good food, and watching Emmett get to know some more of his family members.

6 Weeks Old

Emmett turned 6 weeks old on Friday and we are loving each day, watching him get a little bigger, more alert, and more attune to the world around him. He is now getting pretty good at holding his head up, turning his head towards the sound of his favorite rattle, and following our faces or the rattle with his eyes. Its amazing how these tiny accomplishments become so significant!

We just finished up a pretty big weekend for our little family, our first out-of-town trip! On Saturday we drove up to Baltimore for Justine and Bill's wedding, and spent time with Bobby and Amanda (who lives in B-more) and surprise guests Nana and Papa, who drove down at the last minute to see everyone and who kindly baby-sat Emmett during the Saturday evening wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony and we enjoyed our first evening out (alone!) since Emmett was born.

What a real photographer can do...

A couple of weeks ago, we were happy to be a stop on our friends Ashley and Eric's whirlwind trip down the East Coast. Ashley is a photographer specializing in babies and families (www.ashleyabercrombie.com). We pulled it together as best we could first thing in the morning, and I just wanted to share some of the beautiful Emmett photos stolen from her Facebook page!

5 Weeks Old

Emmett is over 5 weeks old already, and we are definitely seeing changes and developments - he's filling out, growing longer, smiling more frequently, and today he even laughed for the first time at Daddy! He is also enjoying bathtime now that he has a comfy seat from our neighbors to hang out in.
