4 Weeks Old, and More Visitors!

We are so happy to have Teresa's sister Sarah and her daughter Siena visiting from Iowa City this week! Siena and Emmett are about 9 months apart, and the new moms can barely handle the two of them together. Here are the kids in their carseats:

This weekend, the rest of Teresa's family came down to see the babies together. Here's Uncle Bob holding Emmett for the first time:

Battle of the onesies!

We're torn over here being both Yankees and Phillies fans... luckily these are 3-6 month outfits and Emmett can't fit into either of these just yet.

Perhaps for the world series we'll have to make some choices! ;)

Special thanks to Aunt Karen and Unkie Jeff for the onesies

Emmett - 3 Weeks Old

Our little man is 3 weeks old today! Here are some newer pics, of him lounging on Mommy's lap on the front porch:

A BIG Thank You!

Friday evening, we were sad to say goodbye to Grandma Debi (Andrew's Mom) who has been staying with us since last weekend! We loved every minute of her visit, although she is probably happy to return to Saratoga Springs after a week of washing dishes, exercising dogs, changing poopy diapers, bringing Teresa tea, etc. We love you, and are so thankful for your help and appreciate all of your support as we continue to figure out the best way to take care of our little guy!

An overdue update

If you've been to our house over the last few years you may remember the awfulness of the bathroom... we are happy to announce that in April, Dad/Papa Engle (the guy who looks like a teenager in the above picture) completed a beautiful vanity and medicine cabinet that were custom designed for our bathroom. It may be awhile before we paint the walls, but we just wanted to show off the wonderful update to our home. If not for the new countertop, we wouldn't have a place to give Emmett a bath!

Weekend update

Hello all, Mommy here! Thank you everyone for the support, emails and phone calls, cards and gifts too! As much as I would love to get caught up with everyone individually, this has been one of the busiest and most challenging times of life so far and I appreciate how understanding everyone has been about my being out of touch. In the meantime, I hope you have been enjoying the blog and picture updates, Andrew has been doing a stellar job of keeping it up to date! Here are a few more pictures from this past week:

And the Ficarettas came into town for the weekend! Grandpa Joe, Aunt Bridget and Aunt Elise left on Sunday morning but Grandma Debi will be here all week, and we are happy to have her!! Here's Grandpa Joe holding Emmett for the first time:

Mother's Day

Thanks so much for all for your cards and gifts everyone -- we've been overwhelmed by your generosity!!!

We enjoyed Teresa's beautiful first Mother's Day by sleeping in a bit, going for a nice walk around the neighborhood, some relaxation on the front porch, a short trip over to "Music in the Park", and a long night spent up with Emmett.

Richmond in full bloom

For those of you who havent made it down to Richmond in a while -- the Spring is our favorite time of year because of the lush, colorful, fullness that is our beloved neighborhood.

And our garden out back is really starting to pop!

Here's cleo enjoying the ornamental grasses...

Herbs, vegetables, and roses are all doing well...

and here's Teresa and Emmett enjoying the new umbrella out back.

Starting Week #2

Getting more active this week to stimulate Emmett a bit, its been hit or miss come nighttime but we remain hopeful that our nights aren't too hectic!

Teresa is doing great!.... up and walking our 3 mile loop with the stroller and the dogs.
Emmett also enjoys being outside on the front porch during the daytime
