Cousins on Christmas
Happy Holidays, everyone! We're up in New York and actually having a very relaxing season (who can say that??) We haven't taken many photos unfortunately, but wanted to upload a few cute cousin photos and a video from Nana's camera, taken on Christmas after we drove from Saratoga to Vestal. Here are Siena and Emmett, saying hello for the first time since August.

Some California Pictures
Part of becoming a parent is traveling to beautiful Northern California and returning with about 15 pictures of the trip, and 10,000 of Emmett rolling around on the bed. Love him!

Napa Valley Peek-A-Boo
Helloooo! We have just returned from a week in San Francisco and Napa Valley, CA. We met up with college friends Carly and Ashley, along with their great boyfriends Phillip and Eric. It was so much fun to see everyone, do some wine tasting, take in the beautiful scenery, and get to know SF a little better. We have some great photos, but wanted to share a couple of videos!
Here is Emmett playing with Carly at a winery...
Here is Emmett, so happy to be back in his Johnny Jump-Up after returning home! (We brought it with us but couldn't use it in the last hotel room because the doorways had the wrong kind of moulding.) Enjoy!

7 Months Old (and getting a kick out of it)
Just sharing the big belly laughs of our 7 month old little guy! We are in love. Emmett spends his time rolling all around (no crawling so far), examining objects - turning and looking at every angle, sitting up and playing, jumping in his johnny jump-up, and is still very much a cuddler. He tried meat for the first time on Thanksgiving, chopped up in REALLY small pieces and mixed in with mashed potatoes. He's in his big boy car seat, which he likes a lot better than the bucket. XOXO

Big Boy Update
Emmett's 6 month checkup was today, just passing along the stats!
Weight: 20 lbs, 90th-95th percentile
Height: 30 inches, off the charts!
Head: 17.5 inches, 75th percentile
Between teething, a growth spurt and his shots, the little man was a bit cranky today - but who can blame him? We're anxiously awaiting Daddy's return from a busy week in Córdoba, Spain, working at the Islamic art symposium. He sure has missed his little buddy!

Halloween and 6 Months Old
We were fortunate to have a more lightweight costume for Emmett to wear on the warm Halloween afternoon (thanks to Sophie and Naomi from next door for not fitting into their cow costume!) Mommy and Emmett enjoyed the weekend with Nana and Papa, celebrating babies in animal costumes and Emmett's 6-month birthday on Nov 1.

Halloween Sneak Preview
All is well here in Richmond - Emmett got his second tooth earlier this week, is getting much better at sitting up, and is now putting himself to sleep at night without having to be bounced and nursed. He is truly a blessing.
Andrew/Daddy is off to Spain for a week, leaving a nervous mommy with a LOT of solo responsibility! Before he left, we got our wonderful little guy dressed up in his Halloween costume so that Daddy could see the little skunk in all his glory. Thanks to the adorable Jake Burns for loaning us his old costume! Enjoy!

It's official: Battle of the onesies for the World Series

So, basically what happened is this. We received these two onesies as gifts 6 months ago and Emmett was enjoying them immensely until he grew out of them. But anyway at the time the Yankees and Phillies were having what amounted to as an exhibition match up... and it was alluded to that in case these two teams happened to face off during the world series the Ilnicki's would have a tuff choice to make in who to root for. Now the time has come to announce that the Yankees and Phillies are in fact the best 2 teams in baseball.... and they will be facing eachother in the World Series this year beginning Wednesday.
We'll not be pulling for any one team over the other because we are fans of both teams, but considering the Phillies just won last year perhaps it's the Yankees turn to do the family proud.
Either way, enjoy the series and you heard it here first!!

5 Months Old
Emmett is 5 months old!
He doesn't like children's TV (but likes football and watches with Daddy every weekend).

He's growing like a weed and is already in 9 and 12 month clothes.

He likes staring at Mommy when she's working...

playing with toys...

and going to the park.

He doesn't like pears:

He loves Nana and bathtime...

laughing at Mommy...

The latest smash hit is the exersaucer from our wonderful neighbors.

Most recently, we took Emmett to the gallery openings in Richmond where he was an ANGEL - a quiet happy baby during dinner, then about 2 1/2 hours happily the Bjorn looking at art, lights, new people, and listening to new music. He's found his feet, very interested in his hands, loves pawing at our faces (which is starting to hurt - he's getting stronger!) and he reaches out for hugs. He's also working on his first tooth, one of the bottom front two. We're not yet nostalgic about him being smaller than he is, but I can envision missing these gummy smiles.
Anyway thanks for checking in on us and our little man, we miss our out-of-town family and friends, and especially apologize for being out of touch these last two months. Lots of love!!
